Kisha Kuykendall

About Me.

My name is Kisha Kuykendall, and I am from Atlanta, Georgia. I graduated from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Maryland with a degree in Rehabilitation Services. I hold a master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. My experience includes working for state vocational rehabilitation for a combined 10 years as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and as Unit Manager over a vocational rehabilitation team. I have over 20 years of professional counseling experience. I utilize skills from treatment modalities such as Christian Counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Vocational Counseling, and Motivational Interviewing. My focus areas are Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Adjustment Disorders, Biopsychosocial Adjustment to having a Disability, Coping with Life Changes, Grief, Effective Communication, Esteem Building, Emotional Awareness, Career Counseling and Goal Setting. I provide individual and family counseling to adolescents and adults aged 12 and older.  I hope my clients achieve the courage to take steps to face and overcome their fears and any barriers that prevent them from walking in their authentic selves and achieving their personal and relationship goals.
